Feng shui your way into Spring

Feng shui your way into Spring

Feng Shui - sometimes called Chinese Geomancy - is an ancient Chinese practice based on thousands of years of traditions, that claim energy forces the connection of individuals and their environment. The term ‘feng shui’ literally means ‘wind-water’ which can be translated to ‘fluidity’. Feng shui has become the new rage, with many believing that you can attract positive energy and breathe life into your spaces simply by rearranging your rooms to encourage a positive energy flow.

The Ideal Home Show has a star-studded line-up of guests and experts all heading to the Super Theatre and Spring Clean Stage, including Singapore-born architect, and social media feng shui master Cliff Tan. We’ve rounded up some of Cliff’s top tips to organise your space and promote energy flow in your spaces.

Cliff's top tips:

  • Connect the practice to your own culture – Practice feng shui in a personal way by making choices that are relevant to you.
  • Don’t use objects that have no meaning to you – only surround yourself with objects you need and will use to unclog your space.
  • Practice being present – and being aware of your surroundings.
  • Don’t just follow the rules of feng shui just because – rationalise why you’re doing it.
  • Trust your intuition – feng shui is about feeling protected and doing things that feel right.

You can hear more from Cliff at the Ideal Home Show’s Super Theatre and Spring Clean Stage, as well as advice from other celebrity guests and experts on all things home, interiors, gardening and lifestyle. Take a look at our full line up here.
