Danielle Maupertuis
My name is Danielle Maupertuis, I am a Belgian Vegan Executive Pastry Chef, worked for 5-star hotels in the UK and abroad, and winner of several gold and silver medals in international competitions.
A few years ago, as a Pastry Chef, I was struggling to offer our vegan guests a decent choice of desserts. This is what enticed me to create my own range of vegan desserts, focused on taste and presentation.
The need for a cookbook became obvious. This, in turn, motivated me to create my first cookbook “Vegans deserve better than a fruit salad.
Featured in various magazines, present at the BBC Radio 3 Counties, my challenge is to arouse interest in vegan baking and bring back the “art of cooking”.
This is why I created a Vegan afternoon Tea Club : Not only a tasting, I also show how to make one of my gorgeous desserts.
And for those who would like to dig deeper into vegan baking, I created 2 online courses, one for beginners, and one for more advanced students.
I am a Tutor at the Vegetarian Society Cookery School.
Regular contributor in Vegan magazines, I also present demos and talks in Foodie Shows.
