Jon Watts
Jon Watts is a professional chef, recipe creator and influential social media chef.
After getting into serious trouble as a teenager, Jon was sentenced to six and a half years in a young offender’s institute. He was determined not to fall into the vicious cycle of reoffending, so he took on every opportunity he could to learn and develop. One of those opportunities was working towards Duke of Edinburgh awards. As part of this he had to pick a skill to learn and he picked cooking. He was the first person in custody to achieve all three Bronze, Silver and Gold D of E awards.
Jon secured a job in one of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants, where he worked for several years before setting up on his own. As well as starting up his own food truck business, Jon quickly became a sought- after corporate and events chef, cooking for many well-known people and businesses, including regularly catering at Windsor Castle.
Jon gained national exposure through his social media profile and
TV appearances, including cooking live on ITV’s This Morning multiple times. His recipes have gained a reputation for being simple yet delicious and always using ingredients that are easily accessible
and budget friendly.
In 2023 he self-published his first cookbook, Watts Cooking, which was a huge success.
Away from cooking, Jon tells his story to many different audiences, from making motivational speeches for businesses, to talking in prisons and schools to at-risk young people.
